2021 - Acrylic Ink, Water Soluble Graphite on Concrete, Acrylic on paper
8.25 x 8.25 x 3 in (21 x 21 x 7.6 cm)
First exhibited in Art for Change - Rooted India (in collaboration with Greenly Art Space, California)
Karma Yoga - ‘selfless action performed for the benefit of others’, can be the best way to handle any difficult situation in life.
The work depicts the act of feeding dogs and cows during the lockdown of March 2020.
For the artist, it started with feeding dogs as the local shops were closed. But soon he started feeding the cows too. The compassion grew. The randomness of the texture in the concrete bowl represents the variation in the difficulties we all may be going through. But if we focus on the sorrow of others, ours will gradually ebb away.
